The first topic I'll cover is automatic writing, as it's a tremendous method for accessing your inner self -- and that's what Soul Quest is all about.
Automatic writing is a valuable method for tapping into one's Higher Self, and for communicating with spirits. Also known as meditative writing or trance writing, the process of automatic writing is often thought of as an oracle or divinatory tool. It first gained widespread recognition through the Fox Sisters and the Spiritualist movement .
It is related to spirit writing or channeled writing, as well as the much-maligned Ouija board. While it is possible to contact other entities, as in channeled writing, most spiritual seekers and Lightworkers are more interested in personal and spiritual development. For most practitioners, the information received through Automatic Writing comes from the subconscious, the Higher Self, and sometimes from Spirit Guides. Others may use this to receive messages from Angels, or from loved ones who have passed on.
One fear some people express about Automatic Writing is that they may contact unwanted or malicious spirits. Since at first we'll be focusing on the Higher Self, this isn't a concern. But, as you progress, you may want to contact your Spirit Guides or other entities. This is perfectly safe, as long as you keep a few simple things in mind, which I'll discuss later.
You don't need to be a medium or spiritualist to become adept at this process. As long as you can hold a pen and pad in your lap and know how to form letters and words, you'll do fine. Along with ability to hold a pen and pad, it helps to have some practice in meditation, but even this can be learned as you go along. Later, you may also wish to progress to using a computer keyboard for your Automatic Writing.
Preparation
The first step is to learn basic meditation practice. By entering a meditative state before attempting Automatic Writing, you will be more likely to succeed. If you already meditate regularly, continue this practice with the intention of preparing for Automatic Writing.
