Confessions Of An 'American Idol' Junkie

at least five of the 10 chose songs that didn't complement their voice style: Justinn, Brad, Ryan, Rodesia, and Nicole. Not one of them had the voice to pull off the song they chose, which was too bad because Ryan and Nicole have good voices, but killed their chances via poor song selection.

And it wasn't just song selection. Ryan chose a jazz song, but came out dressed like a rocker in a minature, mini skirt and a torn, make-shift crop top. Justinn came out dressed in a Lenny Kravitz, rock-on dude outfit, but then sang, "When A Man Loves A Woman." Kelli - who sang a really solid version of "I'll Always Love You." Though she has the talent, I am in full agreement with Simon that she needs to stop trying to be Whitney and let her own voice shine. With her big curly hair, she even looked like a young Whitney at certain camera angles. I think Simon's only point was that - once she's in a studio she'll have to be diverse and can't hide behind mocking Whitney's style. I know, I know - its a
