Celebrity Cruises

Cruises might be a way to spend some time with the celebrity of your choice. More and more cruise lines are offering such a theme and all you have to do is come up with the bucks. But look at it this way... you are getting a holiday out of it and you are in the company of some impressive fellow passengers. Here is what I found for you.

One such holiday offered by Carnival Cruises was a 6 day and 5 night cruise. And for fun, three celebrities were thrown in for good measure. The numbers of guests per celebrity is quite impressive! One cruise limited the numbers to 100 while another had even less and still offered three celebrities. Not sure how the cruise line made money on that one but I'm sure the fans were excited.

So, how close do you get to the celebrities? Apparently quite close. During meals, the fans are assigned tables and that's where you stay put. However, the celebrities get to table hop. One night you just might be rubbing elbows with your favorite celebrity. It's kind of hard not to get to know him, when he is your dinner partner.

From what I have gathered through my research, the fan/celebrity thing seems to fade while on the cruise and everyone becomes friends as they explore the ship and the trips to shore. One celebrity account that I found mentioned having a dance lesson with the fan. And it was the fan who was giving the lesson.

From the standpoint of the celebrity, I'm sure that this must be a good deal as well. I'm sure the enticement to come on board included a free ticket. So, not only does he get a free holiday out of it... he gets to make some brownie points with the fans. All that is expected of him is to be nice, eat the food and sign a few autographs. When I am famous (hey, I'm writing these articles aren't I?) I certainly would not turn down a cruise to the islands. So, if any cruise lines wants to include me in a celebrity cruise.... I'm available.
