Should Old Habits Be Forgot ...

So it is a New Year and often people make new year's resolutions. I don't. I really don't see the point for an individual to do that, there is simply no point usually. If you want to quit smoking, for example, do you actually wait until the new year to try? And when you fail the third week of the year, do you drop it until the next year? Truth is, probably a lot of people do that. So this list below are not really resolutions. It is more like a wish list combined with a to do list. The wish list includes things I would like to see happen on each soap, behind and in front of the cameras. The to do list is all about what I plan to do to survive a full year of critiquing and criticism. But I should warn you that if you like being spoiler free, it is probably best to click the back button on your browser... For All My Children this year, I wish they get rid of every pretty young face with no discernable individual qualities or personality. The ones you may keep, Maggie and Bianca, period. Everyone else can go, and quickly please. I also hope Brian Frons doesn't cave to ABC's pressure to now be more conservative than the previously known granny network CBS and make Bianca straight. Like it or not Disney, she's gay, too little, too late. Don't you dare make Erica right after all of her complaining! While we are at it, please, stop Tad from being such a horrible jerk. What the heck is up with him getting into everyone's face about how other men treat all the women he's lost and some he's never even slept with?! And there is a serious problem that Maria's family is all of the sudden more interesting than Edmund... I hope that this year they get him back on track. For As the World Turns, I hope Carolyn Culliton returns so Hogan can get his act together and going back to the character driven, history based storytelling he managed when he started. I hope Lucy Johnson's exit from CBS means Scott DeFreitas gets back to work ASAP! I hope Scott Holmes gets some decent airtime. And I personally resolve to no longer care about anything regarding Carly; she's ruined, it's over. I also resolve to give our Dusty recast a chance even though there is just no earthly reason for him to return, with Rose no less.
