Swept Away


would definitely qualify as a shock. Me, I honestly saw this coming, well not, the move to GH, but the exit from ATWT. Once the drastic recent rewrites stopped the Holden/Molly story, Lesli smartly said adios. As for going to GH, well, I think the show is a mess, I would have never pictured her as Lois, and I never really even liked Lois. But going on any soap recently is a bit of a crapshoot. Unless she moved to The Young and the Restless, could we really say she'd be better off on any other soap? All we can say for sure is she sure wasn't better off languishing on this soap and a girl's gotta eat.

Speaking of Y&R, they of course are the only ones who are really having a sweeps month with substance and not a lot of flash. But for me, there are only three stories that are really clicking and unfortunately far more than only three stories are on the canvas. Anything involving the orchid story is riveting, anything involving Kevin is riveting, and anything involving this Abby paternity revelation is riveting. But everything else is either moving at way too slow a pace, or I never cared about. For example, I never cared about Brittany outside of Raul in the first place, so this whole stripping/Bobby story has been a snooze except when it intersects the Kevin story. I've never bought the Jill and Kay is related angle so it takes a lot for me to be engaged in that story. And this Cameron story has always been a bit of mixed bag for me. There has been without a doubt, some awesome work from Sharon Case and Melody Thomas Scott and it is always a kick to see Sharon and Nikki interact. But whether he's alive, dead, haunting Sharon from his grave, trying to have her locked up in an institution, I never really could care less.

But better to just be a matter of taste than to be a matter of insanity which is what Days of Our Lives became a few months ago. First of all, it was a bad strategic move to have Lucas and Sami first make love so soon. It's the only thing that has been really different or interesting in ages. Of course they had dragged out their romance so long it seems ridiculous to have waited longer. But
