Have you ever been to Hearst Castle? Built in 194 and located halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco in San Simeon, California it is one of the states most famous historical monuments.

I visited Hearst Castle when I was a child of nine and was in awe of the glamour I found within those walls. There was an in-door pool, an outdoor pool, a theater, a library, several guest homes, gorgeous white statues and so much more. My little mind was begging to run wild and touch everything in site! But, as with any museum, such an activity was prohibited. Needless to say, I was a bit disappointed.

But the character of the place has forever kept me yearning to go back. The architecture is truly amazing! The entire place allows a child’s imagination to soar! From wondering what it would be like to be so rich, to wondering what it would be like to create such a breath-taking piece of work; a work that is adorned by all that come in its presence.

It is said the estate has 165 rooms and 125 acres of gardens, terraces, pools, and walkways. There are four tours to choose from, each tour takes you to a different part of the castle, each costing $14 per adult and $8 per child. To order tickets, please call 1-800-444-4445.

In Tour one you get to view six minutes of Hearst’s home movies. In Tour three you get to view a short film illustrating the construction of Hearst Castle. You can also visit www.hearstcastle.org and learn more about the history of this great place. Or www.friendsofthehearstcastle.org which assist visitor services. New to the castle, at least since the last time I was there is the "Larger than Life" Movie experience of the making of Hearst Castle. ,Have you ever been to Hearst Castle?
