Christmas at Lake Arrowhead, CA,

Have yourself a Dickens of a Christmas! That is the theme of this year's Christmas Celebration, at Lake Arrowhead Village. Lake Arrowhead is located off Highway 18, just before you get to Big Bear. Be sure to dress warm, as it gets awfully chilly this time of year. The Village is located on a Lake, thus the name Lake Arrowhead Village.

Christmas officially begins on November 24, for the townspeople of Lake Arrowhead, California. With it's annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6:00 p.m., the town shares free hot cider, cookies and entertainment. At 5:30 p.m. Santa arrives for a photo op.

Then on December 2, the Blue Jay Christmas Parade "The Shortest Parade in the World" takes place at 1 p.m.

Have some free time on December 1, 2, or 3? Care to enjoy a classical ballet of "The Nutcracker?" You can get tickets by calling 909-336-1359

December 9th, between the hours of 9and 10 a.m. you can enjoy a FREE breakfast with Santa. All you have to do is spend $10 at the Village, between the 4th and the 8th of December.

December 16th is the Ice Sculpting Show between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Every weekend during the month of December, Santa will be available at the Village for photo opportunities.

And the best part, Santa's Village will be open from the 1st through the 24th of the month of December and then have its Official Re-opening during the summer of 2001. Santa's Village is a miniature mountain amusement park whose theme is Christmas. I am not sure what the reopening will have in store as far as attractions, but I can tell you that I loved my annual visits to Santa's Village when I was a child. I remember my cousin pulling on Santa's beard to see if it was real; it was. We petted Santa's reindeer and had a magical adventure.
