to catch the droppings. If you're concerned about your bird shredding the newspaper, and possibly ingesting the ink, you may wish to use paper towels or pine shavings. Finally, provide fresh food and water for your bird daily. I'm not going to jump into the debate about pellets vs. seeds. For the most part, where you buy your bird (i.e., from a pet stores or a breeder) will determine your bird's diet. Ensure that it receives plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables daily. In addition, snacks such as popcorn (unbuttered and unsalted, please), plain rice or pasta, brighten up your bird's day. Armed with the above mentioned supplies and a love for birds, you're ready to take on the job of bird ownership.
