Everyone has heard about the owner who put up a sign saying:
1. The customer is always right. 2. If the customer is wrong, see item 1. Here are eight more items to consider from a computer services business perspective. 3. If the computer won't boot because some key Windows files are missing, the customer must have inadvertently highlighted them without noticing and then by accident hit the "Delete" key which is very easy to do. 4. If a file with a strange name turns out to be pornography, it must have come with one of the programs. 5. If the e-mail won't send because Mr. Smith is not a proper user name, the e-mail system is very fussy. 6. If the site can't be found because http.www//yahoo,com is not a proper address, it's because these addresses are hard to type in exactly - use copy/paste where possible and use the bookmarks. 7. If the computer is slow because it is a 386 running Windows 98, it's because these new programs take up too much room. 8. If attachements won't open, the sender hasn't used the right program. 9. If a file is lost, it's because Windows uses such a complicated filing system. 10. But, if the customer doesn't pay his bills, he's not right - it's time to find another customer. Here, for another point of view, from the marketing of games, is a site which goes from discussing whether the customer is right to what they call "audience engineering." Go To Page: 1
