So you've found your calling by making hyperthermic tudels better than anyone. You've got a target market, you've got product, you've got a system for handling orders and billing, you've got a strategy and a business plan. (OK., like many small businesses you don't actually have any of these things. You're going to wait to see if any orders come in and then worry about filling them, invoicing and financing but bear with me here.) What you're looking for now are customers.
Your web site is a good place to start. Register with lots of search engines at Add Me and at Submit It . This should have an immediate effect but more important are the listings which the search engines initiate when they explore your site. To determine these listings, search engines index the words on your page as keywords and list your site depending on how often a relevant word appears. This opens the door to abuse, such as inserting hyperthermic and tudel on your page 1001 times (in small print at the end or in the same colour as your background) to get ahead of your competitor who has listed them 1000 times. A better strategy is to make sure your page's text contains relevant keywords and to use META tags. Now you're finding customers who are looking for your product. More difficult and more time consuming to find are customers who aren't looking for your product because, while they need it, they don't know it exists. One good strategy is to subscribe to some mailing lists dealing with subjects related to hyperthermic tudels but remember not to sell your product. Posting a hard sell on a mailing list will usually irritate a large number of subscribers and earn you lots of e-mail which you won't want to read. Instead, join the discussions and mention hyperthermic tudels whenever they fit. A reference to hyperthermic tudels in your signature together with your URL is also appropriate. To find mailing lists to join, try this mailing list list. Each time you post you should see the result in visits to your site.
