Getting Paid, again

I recently overheard an acquaintance who had been without a steady job for some time tell a friend who had come up with some job suggestions, "You don't understand. I have no trouble finding work. I have trouble finding someone who will pay me what I want to be paid." Exactly.

Your small business can no doubt find plenty to keep it busy but it needs customers who are prepared to pay enough to keep you going. If your business is properly market-oriented with high-quality products which benefit your customers, then this shouldn't be a problem. Still, it would be interesting to know how other small businesses handle cash advances, when bills are due etc.

NEBS is a company which sells printed material, pre-printed forms and accounting software. I've used them a couple of times but have no other connection to them. Once they messed up and I wouldn't have paid them but they immediately sent a corrected replacement shipment so I paid promptly. They've done a survey of small businesses with regard to various aspects of accounts receivable. Their interest is obviously to sell their software but the survey is still interesting.

Also, as a marketing strategy, putting interesting information related to your products on your web site is not a bad idea.
