Things That Speak in the Night

We've known since the first time we set foot in this house that we weren't alone in it. Right away, we asked that we share the home, rather than have anyone 'ruling' it or manipulating each other. It's pretty peaceful here and the 'others' haven't been a problem, except when the orbs zip around the house and startle us, especially the kids. My husband gets embarrassed when they flit around him when he's naked!

Our landlord is known for coming in while his tenants are away, and that really irritates us, so one night before we went out of the house I left a digital recorder running on a shelf (to get proof to confront him with). We came home and I turned it off and went to bed, waiting until the next morning to listen to it.

That morning I was sitting at my pc tapping away at the keyboard while listening to what seemed like endless hours of silence, amid occasional meows and noises from the cats jumping on the shelf the recorder had sat on. About an hour and a half into the recording, all hell broke loose and it startled me!

First I heard some footsteps coming to the door and then, very close to the recorder, a man's voice loudly whispered, "Bastard!" Immediately following that was a knock at the door followed by our friend opening it and yelling, "Hello, anyone home?" Then, CRASH and, "Oh, sh*t!" before the door closed again and footsteps stomped away from the door.

We recognized the voice of our friend and asked him about it, and he said when he peeked his head in the door our wallhanging fell down. It wasn't on the floor when we got home and he didn't take time to put it back up, yet he'd seen it and we could hear it happening, and we could hear that he left immediately.

This friend is a very Spiritual person now, but there were days when he worshipped Satan and had tatoos put all over his body. He's had all the turned pentagrams removed from them, but the basic designs are still there. Apparently, he's still seen as an enemy of sorts by someone in our home, or maybe he's not as 'reformed' as we'd thought, inside himself.

Who knows? It does make me feel a bit more comfortable knowing that whoever's here with us likes us, does not swear at us or make things fall off the walls. And, that whoever it is watches out for us, too. I'd sure like to know who it is.
