Incidentally, don't make the catastrophic mistake of assuming that your sleep doctor, sleep techs, or homecare therapists will tell you all you need to know. Sometimes they don't know themselves, but most often they just don't have (or care to take) the time to offer you all the information you could use, or answer all the questions you might have!. Often, rushed doctors spill forth a lot of information so quickly that you're lucky to remember any of it; for this reason, I always advise patients to see the doctor only with a relative or friend accompanying them into the doctor's office--to ask questions you might no think of or fear to ask, and to help you remember the answers.

So, to all you newly diagnosed or suspected sufferers from sleep apnea, my advice is: Get cracking!

It's a matter of life and death--YOURS!
