Fast Track to PARALLEL

© Michael J. Maassen (The Ski Bum)

Well with snow just around the corner here in the northern hemisphere... the Canadian Ski Instructor's Alliance has sent me both my invoice for my annual membership fee and my fall issue of SkiPro!

With the evolution of the shaped ski, instructors are learning to adopt a new approach to teaching first time skier to ski parallel sooner.

In the SkiPro is states that the CSIA has developed a new approach to assist that first time skier to parallel ski and by-pass that old stem progression that we all grew up with!

Through drills and exercises, us ski instructors will have the novice skier parallel turning much sooner and eliminating the stem method as a means to change direction...

So I guess you thought I was going to tell you all the secrets on turning those skis parallel faster... wrong!, us instructors still have to make a living on the slopes and as they say to much theory can be dangerous and there is no better way to learn then with your boots and boards on... moving over the terrain with a certified CSIA ski instructor.

So If I don't see you in a lesson this winter perhaps one of my fellow CSIA instructors will!

Cheers!
