The Odd Couple

The Odd Couples first show aired in 1970 and the last show ended in 1975. It was on ABC every Friday night in the 9:30pm time slot. I have enjoyed watching The Odd Couple for over twenty years. This is a series that can be true to life. One of my best friends, whom I've know most of my life, are exactly like Felix and Oscar, literally.

I admit to being a bit overly neat. I can't leave a pair of shoes or a jacket laying out and about. They always have to be put away. I hate clutter and I do clean thoroughly once a week. I never have a dirty dish in the sink either. I also have four pets, two dogs and two house cats. I clean out the litter boxes three times a day and only take the dogs out to do their business so my pets are clean and don't smell up the house. I also am allergic to hot spices. Ok so there is a slight similarity between me and Tony Randal's character Felix but not to that extreme, all though my friend Ann would have people believe otherwise. She on the other hand, also has similarities to Jack Klugman's character, Oscar. She really believes that she isn't that messy but she is.

For example, she will let the dirty dishes in the sink build up and build up. She only washes them when she has nothing left in her house to eat off of. She also loves to call me on the phone and tell me how she has a sink full of dirty dishes because she knows how much it irritates me. She vacuums once every four or five months and she never puts anything away. I remember staying over night at her house when we were young and there was never any place to put my things or even walk across the room because there is so much clutter. I don't even know how she could tell the difference between her dirty clothes and her clean ones. They were always laying all over the floor. You couldn't even see what color her carpet was. When she got a new car a few years ago, I knew within one week she would have empty soda cans and potato chip bags in the back seat along with other things like books and sports equipment. Whenever she picks me up the front seat always has things on it and she has to throw them in back. Then she tells me to, "shut up" about the clutter before I even mention it.
