Coming home from a vacation in Belize, Frasier finds himself having feelings for Lana, played by Jean Smart. He consults every member of his family on these feelings and all of them agreed Clair was good for him. All but Daphne liked her. Frasier tried to talk himself into sticking it out with Clair, played by Patricia Clarkson. Everyone thought she was the perfect woman for him. His preoccupation with Lana continued.
Niles found something inside him on the vacation that vrought out an entirely new person deep within him. He suddenly found nude beaches as a turn on. He even asked Roz if there was one in Seattle. She told Niles the wrong place and he found himself nude in front of a Christian women's bus. Of course Roz called Niles to tell him she told him the wrong beach, but the embarrassment Niles suffered had already taken place.
Finally, after running into a man in crisis, Frasier gave the man advice because he had the exact same problem as Frasier. He recognized Frasier from his show. The man asked him what to do and Frasier came back with, "Well what would you do?" The man said, "Follow my heart. "Frasier asked the man what his decision had been and the man said "Go back to my ex of course." This is when Frasier knew he wanted to end things with Clair. Back home Clair is there feeling like part of the family. Frasier asks her to go into the kitchen and breaks up with her. She kicks him on both legs. Daphne, seeing Clair's distress over what Frasier had just done bonded with her and of course ended up liking her too. Daphne also kicked Frasier, but only once. Lana's son was graduating from high school. Frasier and Roz were there by invitation. Frasier was about to make his move with Lana when her ex shows up. The son asked Frasier to tell his mother Lana to give his Dad another chance because he wanted his parents to be together. Frasier did as he asked and stepped aside. Clearly confused, alone and heartbroken Frasier takes a retreat to the infamous "cabin." Shelly Long, Rita Wilson, and Bebe Neuwirth, plus Frasier's first wife who he married in college were all there with him in his mind. They all played out the illusions in Frasier's mind as he is trying to analyze his behavior and problem. No relationship Frasier was ever in worked because he wouldn't let it. The three woman insisted to Frasier that he was not in love with Clair, but the truth is, is that he won't let himself love her they said, stemming from his fear of rejection. He was afraid to be alone, yet he was alone because of his fear. He realized these women from his past were heavy baggage that was branded in his brain for years and years. He finally left them behind and the illusions faded away. Now we can only wait for a new or old love interest to show up in Frasier's life. Go To Page: 1 2
