Back to Back Drew Carey Attack!

Oswald, Mimi, Lewis, Drew, Kate, Mr. Wick and Drew's cross dressing brother Steve, can make you laugh for one full hour starting August 6th at six p.m. on the WB channel in reruns. Catch up on all the episodes you might have missed. On Wednesday, you can also catch the show in prime time on ABC, 8/9 P.M. central time.

The show opens with various songs such as "Cleveland Rocks," "Five o'clock World," and "Moon Over Parma." Drew can sing and dance as well as a professional, and the cast also has singing and acting ability. This show is a fun and I enjoy watching the changes they make with its opening credits. They never let the watcher get bored by diversifying the songs every couple of years.

Marion Ross, former "Happy Days" mother plays Drew and Steve's mother. Her role is the exact opposite of Mrs. Cunningham. She can shoot out wise cracks and mock as good as anyone in the show. Tammy Faye Baker has a reoccurring role as Mimi's mother. She shows her talent for acting and is the perfect person to cast in this role. Her heavy makeup is a compliment to Mimi's outragous made up face and wardrobe. There is an old saying that laughter is the best medicine and that is so true. There is a fine line between comedy and drama. You can't have one without the other. To be able to take conflict that you have in your life and watch a TV sitcom and see that conflict on screen being presented in a funny manner can make you look at your own life from a different perspective.

The season finale last season left poor Drew in a straight jacket at the mental hospital. Mimi, his sister in law, was the one to drive him to the point of him really thinking he's crazy. Oswald and Lewis tried to break him out by becoming patients themselves and actually enjoyed staying in the mental hospital.

Drew went through so much turmoil this past season. First he loses his job. Mimi keeps giving him a bad reference so the only job he can get is in a high school cafeteria. Then he and Kate break up. To get his job back he has to pretend he's gay and marry Mr. Wick so Mr. Wick could get his green card. Then Drew almost dies in a horrible car crash. He stays in a coma for weeks as Mimi and his brother Steve's baby is being born. The way his friends react is insensitive. Oswald and Lewis are particularly oblivious to how serious the situation is and joke and mock the entire time. Some people find this to be a sick and twisted type of humor but the point I get is live life to the fullest and laugh in the face of tragedy and even death.
