The Look

The Look isn’t about sex. It’s not about lust. I’ve been looked at those ways before. And they bring a very different (albeit satisfying) feeling. The Look is about caring, about mutual respect and love and several other qualities that are intangible. Things you know but cannot name, but you definitely know it when they aren’t there.
Someone once told me I was hung up on being called his girlfriend. That I should be happy with what we have and not label it or define it by placing it in a box called “girlfriend” or “relationship”. Maybe he is right. Maybe I shouldn’t be looking for that at all anymore.
I think what I want now is The Look.
