Summertime ScienceWonderful Water... Finally, oceans and lakes boast unlimited science-related encounters. The tide pools provide hands-on experiences for children and provide hours of enjoyment. Young geologists will delight in discovering how water causes the rocks and shells to erode. Many rocks and shells tidepools found at tidepools have been carved into beautiful designs by the force of the ocean. Quick Science Fun at Home Have fun and make up some experiements you can try in your own yard. My son enjoys making "Funny Sunny Pictures". Here's what you do:
Next, place the colored paper in an area that gets full sun for about 2-3 hours. Place the objects on the paper in any pattern or design and let it sit in the sun. Come back in about 3 hours to find your paper faded and lightened by the sun. Remove the objects. The space they covered will be darker! It's very cool and shows how the sun can be very powerful. My son liked how this had the opposite effect of a sunburn/tan! Summer is a great time for being outdoors so make the most of it and have fun experimenting and learning! HAVE A SUPER SUMMER!
