I have just been told of an offer that my readers my find of interest, so I am passing it on to you.
Yahoo has an offer that extends until the end of May, so there is just six days left to take advantage of it. They are celebrating "Single Mom" month and will offer membership free for 30 days to anyone who signs up before the end of May. That means you would get the entire month of June for free! Here is the link: http://personals.yahoo.com/singlemoms Be sure to take some time and read the free columns because they offer some good advice. For example, read, "The Sheila Ellison or Moms Keep It Real" sections for advice and insight into online dating. My own advice for you is fairly simple. Be smart. Don't put yourself or your child in any danger from someone you meet online. Remember many of these people aren't at all what they say they are. Beware of anyone who does not have a concrete way to contact them. Cell phones can be a tip off that the person is married and hiding their "real" phone number for that reason. Occasionally, a person doesn't have a land line to save money--but it should raise a red flag to you if a person only has a cell phone because more times than not, they are hiding something. If you never get to know where the guy you are dating works, or how they live, you don't really know them. Make a first date only after you have had a chance to get to know them through online exchanges that last for a period of time. There is no rush! Always have a first date in a safe, public place. Drive your own car to that first date. Do not be in a rush to bring your date home to meet your kids. Be very, very slow to bring a new man into your child's life. Most of these men won't last or stand the test of time, so your child really doesn't need to get attached to them. Be cautious--be very, cautious. Ask questions that will over a period of time let you know that person. Beware of those who ask too many personal details right up front, and beware of those who don't ask any questions at all--or who don't really listen to what you are saying. These kinds of men aren't really interested in you as a person. Go To Page: 1 2
