Why Bother To Be Organized?

© Cheryl Lewis

There are some people who are organized just by their nature and cannot understand why someone wouldn't be organized. Then there are those who are chronically disorganized and cannot understand how someone else could keep things so straight. Then there are those who fall somewhere in between the black and white lines of one extreme or the other.

The ability to organize is what could easily be termed a necessity in this day and age of fast moving technology and fast moving lives. There are tons of people who fall in that "in between" group and need a boost to get things organized.

The first question that needs to be answered before moving on to the resolution of getting organized is "why bother to be organized?" That answer is actually pretty easily answered. Getting organized and learning how to stay organized is going to save you so much in the long run. You'll save time, money and stress.

Imagine getting up in the morning and spending only a couple of minutes picking out what to wear. Finding everything you need in it's place and saving an easy 15 minutes just getting ready for your day. Imagine preparing dinner and not having to spend even five minutes looking for just the right pan. Imagine your family running like a well oiled engine.

That's why you should get organized. Am I suggesting that being organized will solve every problem in your life. No, not by a long shot. I am suggesting that having your life and your things organized, knowing where you're supposed to be and when, knowing where your things are right when you need them, will help eliminate stress in your life.

Have you ever had to pay a late fee on a bill because you lost track of the bill? Finding an organizing system that works for you will help keep that from happening. That in turn will help you not have to pay that late fee and wasting money.

Have you ever misplaced your car keys? You don't usually realize they are misplaced until you need them. If you need them, then it's probably easy to assume you have somewhere to go and need to be there by a certain time. If you can't find your keys to start the car or lock the door on your way out, you can't go anywhere. Again finding a place for those keys to go, every time you enter the door will save you time and stress.
