Gift giving ideas to ease the frustration of gift giving during the holiday season. If you have a good supply of energy and a creative mind these ideas will aid you in gift giving this holiday season.
Gift Giving Ideas
- Couples Night Out: Create a freehand or computer design coupon for free babysitting. Place this coupon in a small basket with 2 movie gift certificates, a bag of popcorn, a bottle of wine, and a cut out of the movie section of the newspaper. This is great for parents, who would not like a free night of babysitting. You may also change the theme to correspond with the couple. You may wish to make it a night at a museum or a hockey game. Your budget and imagination is the only limit.
- Photographs and Frames: Everybody loves pictures of their immediate family. Take a day and bring the receiver's children to a professional photographer. Sears has great prices for this. Take pictures of the children and put them in a beautiful frame.
- Recipes in A Jar: Make the receiver's recipe and place in a quart jar. You may do salad dressings, dips, cookies, cakes, and soups and bean dishes. Peruse a country store to get great ideas. Be sure to attach directions and decorate the top of the jar with ribbon and accessories.
- Sewing: Check out a book at the local library of easy sewing projects. Many projects requires limited sewing skill and allows you to make beautiful projects. Make a nice lunch bag for all your nephews and nieces and a pretty book bag for the mom and a glass case for the dad.
- Painting: Buy an unfinished piece made from plaster or wood. Paint a beautiful design on the piece. You are able to personalize these pieces. If the person loves the garden paint a beautiful, birdbath or a clay pot and put in a plant or a bag of soil and a couple packets of seeds.
- Theme Gift: Think about the receiver's likes and fills a basket with appropriate items. A new car owner would love items for the car. Fill a basket with car soaps, car emergency package… An art enthusiast would love paint, pencils, drawing pad and tickets to an art show. The sky's the limit for this gift.
- Chef for the Night: If you are a great cook, offer a couple or spouse a night of gourmet food. You may give this gift to several friends and have a mutual day for all of them. Your gift would include a menu and a date convenient for them. This is a great gift for friends.
