Christmas Cards

The Christmas Season brings good cheer and a great deal of responsibility. This season do not be left behind, start preparing for the great feast weeks in advance to reduce stress and disappointment. The first item on my list is to create Christmas cards and have them mailed before the end of November.

Christmas Cards are a great excuse to revisit with an old friend, or to reconnect with a loved one. The cards are a symbol of our love and friendship to most. This year have the family make creative cards or create unique and personal cards with the aid of your computer.

Homemade Cards

Homemade Cards are fun to create but if you have to send out over 10 cards you may wish to create a few and photocopy them. To begin, purchase good quality card stock at your local business store. You may also wish to make your own homemade paper for the cards. Fold the cards and start decorating. Let everyone join in the decorations. You may wish the children design special Christmas themes for each card or outline a Christmas theme on each card and have the children colour the design in. You may decorate with glitter glue, paint, frost paints, and any medium that you enjoy. When designing the card, think of the person it is being sent to. For a family you may wish to send a picture of Santa Claus. Homemade Cards are great to give and receive because they are thoughtful and beautiful.

Computer Christmas Cards

The computer is a great aid in creating Christmas Cards. The only requirement is an above average printer. If your printer is slow or difficult to handle you are best to stick with the hand drawn cards to keep frustrations to a minimum. There are over a hundred Christmas/Seasonal sites that have wonderful pictures that you may cut and paste for your Christmas Cards. Create a unique card and photocopy. This will save you time. Many sites allow you to create free Christmas cards that you may print or email.

Another advantage of the computer is to personalize the cards with a picture of the family. If you do not have a scanner, have a photograph placed on a disk at your local photo store. Once the photo is on the disk you have the ability to crop the picture and to add words or other pictures. It is nice to get photos from family and friends to see how everybody has changed in the past year.
