In less than a week thousands of children will go back to school. Stock your children's book bags with great supplies while not spending too much money.
- Dig out all the school supplies from last year and organize them. Do not buy new binders if all the binders are still in great shape. Recite the speech about the environment and how wasteful it is to not to reuse good quality items that are less than a year old.
- Buy pens that are of good quality in blue, black and red. Do not buy the pens with the comfort grips unless you have seen an amazing sale on this item. A teacher will not be concerned with the sharpness of the pen colour on the paper but rather the greatness of literature written by the child.
- Reuse the protractors, rulers, and any other gadget that is a requirement for most ages. Have them stored in a separate box to keep them organized.
- Look for sale items in the flyers. Stock up on graph paper, lined and blank paper for the entire year. Store them in a box that is handy for all. Once school has started, school supplies are taken from the shelves and only expensive gadgets are left.
- Lunch bags, book bags and pencil cases are all a must. Try and reuse from last year. Do not use brown paper bags for lunch but invest in a proper lunch bag that is machine washable. Book bags come in and out of style. Try and stay with a classic look to keep it from being out-dated. Pencil cases are inexpensive, let your child pick their own and give them a little control in the purchasing of school products.
Saving money is great because you have more left for vacations and retirement.
