Improving weather and the Easter Weekend bring out the first major signs of Shropshire's visitor attractions getting into full swing. As I have said in these articles before early spring is a great time to visit the county and with everything opening around Easter that is the time to get here before the summer crowds arrive.
TELFORD STEAM RAILWAY http://www.telfordsteamrailway.co.uk/ind... Opening on Easter weekend (11th and 12th April) there are children's activities as well as the chance for adults to ride steam trams and trains. Whilst always in the shadow of the Severn Valley Railway this friendly and "hands - on" railway is always worth a visit. ATTINGHAM PARK http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/historic... This estate is a National Trust property and is one of the most beautiful in Shropshire. Easter weekend will see them hold an Easter Tail (9th - 12th April) with prizes of chocolate Easter eggs as well as cake making an Easter Bonnet competition and egg rolling. The site covers all the National Trust properties although the link will take you to the Attingham Park page. WESTON PARK Weston Park will be holding a Festival of Transport on the Easter Weekend as one of many public events that are held throughout the year. There will also be Horse Trials on the 16th - 18th April. THE LUDLOW SPRING FESTIVAL http://www.ludlowspringevent.com/index.h... I have to admit this is a new one to me. Taking place in the grounds of Ludlow Castle this is a celebration of all things outdoors. If you want to buy new equipment or just look at the latest ranges of gear then this is the place to be. The Festival takes place 3rd - 4th April. The site also has links to some interesting sites connected with Ludlow. PARKHALL FARM Easter Eggstravaganza at Parkhall Farm promises to have something for everybody. This mixture of magic and Easter fun will appeal to all children young and old. Running from the 3rd - 18th April this should be one place to visit. As always I urge you all to make the effort and visit this wonderful county. The attractions are opening all over the place, this is just a small sample of them, and before the summer visitors arrive this is the ideal time to visit. Well that's it for another month. My wife and I are off to Goa in India for three weeks so I will miss Easter here in Shropshire but I am sure that those visiting the county will have a great time. Until next month I wish you all the very best. Go To Page: 1 2
