Shropshire Shopping Spree

Once again my focus is on the weather. As I started to write this article there was thick snow falling and it looked like it should be Christmas instead of the beginning of Spring. If it wasn't for the break my wife and I have had in Malta the other week I am not sure I could cope with such a very long Winter.

Enough of my moaning, at some point the weather will improve and Shropshire will start to awaken from it's Winter slumber and bloom and burst into life. However what can we do in the meantime to make the most of Shropshire even when the weather is not all that great. The answer is to go shopping!

I have decided to concentrate this article on shopping and on three different towns in Shropshire which each offer a different shopping experience.

SHREWSBURY

Many times in previous articles I have extolled the virtues of Shrewsbury. As a historical town it is second to none but it also has a fine array of shops both modern and traditional. Below are some sites which will give you all the information you need to plan a shopping trip to this wonderful town.

Shrewsbury Guide

This is a new site to me and one that I found very useful. There are extensive links to items such as local news, entertainment and of course shopping. There are links to the main Shrewsbury shopping malls which will give you plenty of information on the shops that each one houses. You can find the shopping links under the link to "Tourist Guide".

Shrewsbury.co.uk

This site has a number of links to local businesses and services and gives a good idea of the breadth of services the town can offer.

TELFORD

If you want your shops modern and undercover in a convenient mall then look no further than Telford Shopping Centre. With excellent road and rail links and all the shops you could want this is the place to visit.

Telford Shopping Centre

The site gives details of the shops within the centre as well as individual details of special offers and opening times.

WELLINGTON

On a more traditional note Wellington offers a market experience unlike any other in Shropshire. Wellington has had a market in existence since it was granted a Royal Charter in 1244 and the current market has an excellent mix of the useful and the downright unusual.

Once on the site click on "shopping" and you will find out all about Wellington Market.
