As I write this (Wednesday 30th April) those of us who follow football (soccer) are in mourning for the demise of Shrewsbury Football Club who have been relegated from the Football League after 53 years. In a season that had great highs such as the defeat of Premier club Everton in the F.A. Cup it seems incredible that the club has been relegated. A 3 - 2 defeat by Carlisle last night ended Shrewsbury's stay in the League and means that they will join Telford in the Conference. Spring Weddings

Battle of Shrewsbury

I have mentioned the 600 anniversary of the battle that took place on 21 July 1403. This site gives details of events this month and those taking place in the run up to the anniversary. There are historical links that give details of the Percy family as well as of the battle.

Mid Shropshire Vintage Club
