As a faithful and proficient downloader of shareware, it's probably safe to assume you've got WinZip. If you're a beginner, you'll probably get it soon--possibly from the WinZip home page.
But this probably isn't news to most of you. This might be though: WinZip is SHAREware, not freeware! I have yet to see WinZip registered on any computer. It only recently struck me that it wasn't registered on the computer I'm using at work. (There had to be a reason why that dialog box kept popping up!) Having brought it up in conversation with a few people thus far, I've found that few people even pay much attention to the fact that they're supposed to register it in the first place! C'mon people--this is a useful utility that someone spent a lot of time and effort producing. The registration fee isn't that high (less than $20). Why don't you pay up? Other WinZip news... Once you've registered your copy, check the version. If you don't have Version 7 yet, check it out. This new version includes support for Microsoft's CAB format, a configurable toolbar with 21 buttons, and a tabbed dialog box to make for easier configuration. Go To Page: 1
