It can get awfully boring to sit in the office and work. Sometimes you're at your computer, and sometimes you're working on paperwork beside it. Still, your computer is always on. The least you can do is have an interesting screensaver to watch. Screensavers offer you nearly everything from lovely graphics to comical animations, even to games you can just click away if your boss shows up behind you.

Here are just a few of the many inexpensive shareware screensavers you can get to keep yourself entertained on those boring days in the office:

Alluring Waterfalls - Available from Always Great Software for the registration fee of $14.95, this screensaver brings breathtaking images of waterfalls to your screen. The shareware version is a seven day trial.

Attack of the Y2K Bug - Rhode Island Software Systems brings you Attack of the Y2K Bug. This comical screensaver features a Y2K bug coming out dressed as several different famous celebrities, readying itself to wreak havoc on your computer in many different fun ways. The registered version for $9.95 brings additional characters.

Chess Ballet - This screensaver is hilarious! Different play pieces from a chessboard dance across your screen in tutus! :-D The shareware version is a 30-day trial; the full version costs $20.

Dancing Baby Boogie - Personally, I hate the dancing baby. However, if you don't agree, maybe this screensaver is for you. The baby dances across the screen with characters such as Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire, and the program even allows you to program in your own sound as well as use a default music. From PJ Software, the registered version costs $15.

Dr. Feelwood - A new concept, this is a screensaver coming in chapters. The star is Dr. Feelwood, a 3d wooden stick figure. This trial version includes the first chapter, which is Dr. Feelwood attempting to break-dance and failing humorously. The full version is only $8!

Photo Mishmash - This one could be a great stress reliever. You can use this screensaver to take JPEG images and photographs and let you swirl and mash them up beyond recognition, often making an interesting piece of abstract artwork. If your boss's photo is displayed on your company website, the program even lets you surf the web and mash up JPEGs off the net. This is a 14-day trial version, and registration costs $17.95.

The Gotmail Screensaver - Ever wanted a screensaver that would let you know if you've got any important messages waiting? This program, available for $10 from GoTime Software, bounces the number of your unread messages around the screen, letting you know at a glance if you should sit down and log on.
