Well you guessed it; I'm pregnant, although I am wearing socks because my feet get way too cold without them. I'm about four months along now and this little soul is due on Terra Firma around August 6th.
This is my first child and I'm both excited and a wee bit scared. Who wouldn't be with the world the way it is right now? Until this little one arrives the articles here will most likely reflect some aspects of pregnancy. I will be writing about herbs and meditations for pregnancy and other information that I glean from books and mothers along the way. Although I will be sharing how I'm 'doing' this baby thing, that doesn't mean that it is the only way of the right way for someone else to 'do' their pregnancy. There are millions of options available to women these days and each woman needs to do what's right for her and her baby. And for that reason I would love it if other women wish to share some of their baby experiences and some of the decisions that they made during their pregnancies any why they made those choices. For myself I've chosen to follow the middle path. I'm planning on having this baby a naturally as possible. I'm taking herbs and seeing a doctor. I'm taking yoga classes and having ultrasounds. I'll have this baby in the hospital with a midwife and hopefully without any medications. Even with the world in the state that it's in, I can't help but be hopeful for this baby. I believe that babies born today are very special, not just to their families, but to the world as a whole. Perhaps it's just a young mother's delusion of grandeur that makes me believe this baby is going to make a difference in this world. Or perhaps it's the realization that if I don't keep that hope alive there may not be much of a world for my baby to grow up in. These are the thoughts I wake up with in the morning before I get to my cup of Raspberry Leaf tea. Throughout the first trimester on this pregnancy I was working on my "Herbalism @ Home" course in which I did a lot of extensive research on herbs for pregnancy. (This was done, when I was pregnant, but didn't know it yet.) Next months article will be about the three most commonly used herbs, Raspberry Leaf, Linden flower, and Dandelion. This article will include both pregnancy uses and uses for people not pregnant.
