Shaman Herbs "Mugwort"

Cunningham states that the power of this plant is strongest at the full moon. I often pick it and make a fresh full moon tea. This is my recipe:

4 to 5 MUGWORT leaves (if you've never had Mugwort before use less).
A few leaves or handfuls of MINT (either peppermint, spearmint, or what ever mint you fancy) for taste and it's balancing effect.
Some LEMON BALM and SWEET WOODRUFF for their calming effects. Both are nervines, tonics for the nervous system.
And a few YARROW leaves and flower heads for its cleansing and balancing properties.

I put them all in a teapot and pour in boiling water. I steep it until it is cool enough to drink. I rarely take out the leaves, that's just my preference. This makes a very strong tea. For a weaker tea pour a cup after 5-10 min.

I drink the tea during a ritual bath, maybe even adding some tea to the bath water. Or before going on a journey. The day after the full moon I pour any leftover tea in my garden and bury the used leaves with my plants. I do this to thank the garden and to thank the spirits in nature.

This tea does not have to be drunk only at the full moon, but can be made whenever you wish to open yourself to new awareness and the spirit world.

You can substitute or add in herbs like Chamomile, Lavender, or Catnip as well. Experiment and use what you like. Oh, and dried herbs work just as well as fresh.

One time I made this tea at the full moon and went on a journey. I always have trouble describing journeys. They are so far beyond even dreams that trying to use mundane things such as words to describe them is difficult.

On this journey I was sitting in a field when Grandmother Moon came to me. She gave me a hug and smiled a very enigmatic smile, as she usually does. I looked beyond her shoulder and saw standing in the light of the full moon a very tall woman dress in white. She had long dark hair and a very beautiful smile. She hugged me as well, but did not speak. I was left with a feeling of deep calm and contentment. I believe she was Diana or perhaps Gaia. I feel very blessed to have met her presence.
