Be Aware, Live Consciously.I am now reading a book called "The Wellness Options Guide to Health, Integrating Western, Natural, and Oriental approaches to well-being" by Lillian Chan. In it she lists a number of ways to 'develop your wellness attitude' and choose to live life well. She talks about taking control of one's health and being the 'master' (my word) of your personal well-being. Remembering to make the list a part of my awareness is the hardest thing about these ideas. I think that they are a wonderful approach to health. I would like to share them and challenge everyone who reads this article to make a conscious decision and effort to:
Choose well-being and optimal living. Make a conscious effort in your live to live each day the way children do. Experience wonder in what we often consider mundane. Choose healthy foods, water, and ways of being to make your life the best it can be. Consider each decision you make as to whether it is contributing to 'optimal living' or not. Choose how to be well, in sickness and in health. When you are sick do what you need to do to make yourself healthy again. Be in control of the sickness and do not let it control you. Be conscious of your health, how are you feeling today? What do you need to feel better? Anything or is the simple fact that you are healthy enough? Seek reliable health information. AND Learn about healing options and lifestyle choices. Be a conscious consumer when it comes to your health. All those pills in the cabinet, do you know what they are for? Do you ask questions of your pharmacist, herbalist, naturopath, doctor? Find resources, be the people, books, websites, of truthful information, that's not just advertising. Expand [your] medical and health perspectives. Have you considered Herbs, Homeopathy, Reiki or Bach Flower Remedies when dealing with health issues? Could your physical illness be the result of an emotional, or mental block? What sort of energy are you feeding the illness? Integrate different health aspects (physical, emotional,
