E. x youngianum 'Purple Heart' was a 2000 Cobblewood® introduction.
This is a seedling from a cross Darrell made between E. grandiflorum var violaceum and E. x youngianum 'Pink Star'. Unlike other varieties whose leaves start out purple or flushed with red, 'Purple Heart' begins greenish-purple and then develops an almost blackish-purple color on maturity, eventually fading back to green.
As you can see from the image, the dark leaves are especially striking in contrast to the bicolored pink-lavender flowers. The leaves turn back to purple for winter. This I must have for the foliage alone.

In addition, Darrell offers two forms of Vancouveria, numerous species Iris, two forms of the woodland primrose, P. sieboldii and a sixteen petal form of Sanguinaria canadensis (bloodroot).
