lustrous leaves of variable shape, from three-lobed to left or right handed mittens. It also has golden fall color, even in substantial shade. The flowers and fruit are similar to L. benzoin, except that it flowers earlier and the fruit turns from red to black. It's hardy to -17ºF (-8.3º C). I'd like to grow this for the leaf shape alone.
