Jump into Digital Catapult

Digital Catapult is a quarterly SF/F webzine which might be easily overlooked in a web full of ever slicker and more graphic intensive zines. This would be a mistake.

DC contains some of the best short fiction I've read in a while, reminding me of the old days of some of the great print SF/F magazines. Stories range from the tale of a huntress who has already killed the last dragon and is now asked to wipe out the last unicorn, to an eerily horrific story of a young girl who feeds on memories.

With the quality of the stories, I'm surprised there is no mention of awards. These stories rival award-winning stories I've seen out there on the net.

Based on the current issue, DC provides quite nice poetry, an editorial and a very interesting contest, which garners impressively written entries. They're looking to expand their fare to include articles and book reviews.

Further attesting to the professionalism of the zine is the fact that the volume and issue number appear on each page. Nice touch.

DC is a paying market, even if the pay is low. They have a sponsorship agreement with Amazon.

Don't be fooled by the lack of graphics or the simple layout. Digital Catapult's editor, Karen Robinson, is putting out some of the better fiction out there.
