Usually around this time of year we are all busy shopping for and making gifts for our loved ones. In all the hussle and bussle, we can soon realize that maybe we've bitten off more than we can chew in terms of sewing projects to do for the holidays.
Naturally we sewers collect all sorts of fabrics and patterns throughout the year. By the time we get to working on our projects we have to find the materials buried in a load of new purchases. Well if you need to use up some of those scraps and find some easier quicker projects to get done in time for the holidays, here are some links to some christmas projects that may just help you out. The quilted ball ornament at http://www.makestuff.com/quiltball.html is a great project for using up scraps of christmas prints as well as some straight pins that may have become dull. It is very quick and easy plus you don't have to be tied to your sewing machine to do it. The snow family at http://www.i-craft.com/projects/1998/sno... is another good project to use up some scraps of knit fabric as well as batting. You can decorate the snowmen as lavishly or simply as you wish. Another project to consider is the filled tube wreath at http://www.i-craft.com/projects/1998/tub... By simply filling tubes of fabric and braiding them together complete with a bow, you can make a simple wreath decoration. Here are some other projects that you might like to try: A Santa Bottle Cover http://www.sulky.com/project/santa-bottl... Angel Ornament http://netins.net/showcase/dollpatterns/... Good luck and hopefully you will lessen that fabric pile in time to stock up again at the after christmas sales.
