Man’s Relationship to God

Seventh-day Adventists believe that man was created in the image of God, which speaks more to the power and freedom to think and act according to free will than replication of a physical form. Humans are created as free beings. "Each is an indivisible unity of body, mind, and spirit, dependent upon God for life and breath and all else." http://www.adventist.org/beliefs/fundame... Adam and Eve rejected their dependence upon God when they listened to the serpent in the Garden of Eden and committed the first sin. We, as descendents of Adam and Eve, share in this fallen nature and its consequences. We believe that Jesus Christ, as God in human form, reconciled humanity back to Himself through His death and resurrection and therein restores the original image of our Maker in those accepting Him and following Him as our Savior. Humanity was created for the "glory of God, they are called to love Him and one another, and to care for their environment." http://www.adventist.org/beliefs/fundame...
