God as Creator

Seventh-day Adventists believe that God is the Creator of all things and that the Bible reveals an accurate account of how He created the world we live in and the human race. We believe that He created our earth and all the living things upon the earth during six literal days consisting of 24 hours each and that He rested on the seventh day of the first week. By resting on the seventh day He created a perpetual memorial to His creation. We believe that Adam and Eve, the first man and woman, were made in the image of God and as the crowning work of His Creation, were given dominion over the world and given the responsibility to care for it.

Exodus 20:8-11 ""Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates. For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy."

Psalm 19:1-6 "The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens he has pitched a tent for the sun, which is like a bridegroom coming forth from his pavilion, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is hidden from its heat."
