Here is a list of things to keep in your first aid kit for dogs. A good strong Tackle box works the best, one that has lots of sections. Label the outside to indicate that this is a Dog first aid box.
Gauze sponges (variety of sizes) 2" gauze roll Roll bandages - gauze wrap and elastic Adhesive tape Sponge Sterile pads (non-adhesive) various sizes Small rounded scissors Nylon leash Towel Paper Towels (They have Pop ups now). Muzzle Thermal blanket or emergency blanket Rectal thermometer Hand wash or wipes Gloves K-Y Jelly Antibiotic cream or ointment hydrogen peroxide Rubbing alcohol Saline eyewash Eye Dropper & Baby Syringe Epsom salt Corn syrup or glucose paste Tweezers Clean cloth Tourniquet or something to make one Absorbent cotton Q-tips Teaspoon Blanket 3 Small Garbage bags I also keep the following medications updated and in the kit: Benadryl liquid and pills Imodium AD Kaopectate Activated charcoal Pepto-Bismol Also have a neatly written or typed list with all emergency phone numbers on it. Poison Control Veterinarian After Hour Vets and Clinics Fire Department List what brand and how much dog food yours eat and any medications they take. Get a copy of a First Aid for dogs and small plant identification book
