Why Give lectures to Businesss?

© Jewl Ann Wall

I have been asked by a number of people why I give lectures to businessess and what do I talk about.

That is very easy. I have more problems with all places of business than I do with the public. Education is the key to learning. Most people only know about Seeing Eye dogs. So the more we educate the more people will learn that there are other kinds of service dogs as well.

I am right now teaching a Service Dog ADA class for a widly known restaurant chain. I had trouble three separate times, from four separate managers in the restaurant here in my area.

I called the district manger after the second time and explained that they needed to talk to the managers of this restaurant. Once the fourth time happened, I called back and had a very lengthy conversation with him on " How we were going to stop this from happening again." I explained to him that I gave lectures about Service dogs for the ADA and that how it could be costly for a business to turn a service dog team away. We came to a fast agreement that his managers and the up and coming mangers of the surrounding area needed a lesson in the ADA. I am now doing one class every five weeks to about fifteen people at a time. I had many thank me for the talk and one young lady said she could not wait to get back to her Wisconsin store and give a talk on this subject.

What do I say when I lecture? These are just my speech notes. I expand on all these points as I am talking. Maybe they will help you and you can start your own talks. Feel free to email me anytime.

Denying access to a service dog can be costly. Service Dog and ADA classes for managers and employees.
