How I got Tagert my Seizure Alert Dog

Their training is long and hard but well worth the outcome. The dogs will be able to do twelve commands and forty training commands. They learn interactive and interpersonal skills at a very young age. They are house broken and leashed trained.

In the forty training commands the dogs spend many hours in public training learning to cope with all the noises, smells and sights that people take for granted in their everyday lives. They also learn to go up and down stairs and to ride elevators. As for the house training They are trained to " Go Crate" which means to go to bed and be quiet for a time.

They are shown where their food and water bowls are and to chew their toys only. They are taught to sit, down, stay, down stay, sits stay, come front, heel, and more. All dogs when finished get three awards. Mandatory public service levels one, mandatory obedience one and good canine citizenship award. They are all AKC registered, neutered or spaded and have a retrieving microchip In their shoulders for lost and found. As you can see the dogs go through a lot of special training, even more than I have said.

Tagert does all that I expected of him and a whole lot more. But let me start at the beginning to how I came to meet and work and live with Tagert.

Look for more articles about other kinds of service dogs. I will be telling you more about Tagert and I and all that he does for me. Until Next time.
