Visualization therapy involves focusing your mind on what you would like to happen and believing that these images are real to your body.
Visualization is very percise and detailed. You imagine how something feels, smells, taste and sounds. Your imagination has to seem so real that it can trick your body into thinking it is a reality. There are several Chronic Pain Clinics in California which use this therapy to help achieve control of the pain with high success rates. Research over the last five years has documented the incredible power of the imagination in the healing process. It is still not understood exactly how this therapy works, just that it does. Children have a much easier time learning visualization than adults. It is believed that this is because they haven't crossed into the black and white absolutes of adulthood. There are numerous cases where visualization therapy has helped people to combat their illness and lead normal lives again. There are Comprehensive Epilepsy Centers which combine traditional therapy along with visualization to help thier patients to decrease activity and prevent a further spread of a seizure. Here are some techniques which I use. Everyone is different and will have a varience on the steps.Over time I have come to the point where I can visualize in any place, be it a mall or a quiet room. Take a very deep breath and on the exhale imagine your self releasing all the tension and frustration from the day. Imagine pure air and healing energy being taken into your body on the inhale. Eventually imagine every negativity being pulled from your body.Practice this until you feel you have released everything from your body. For some people this step will take a while to master. Now turn your focus to your body, in our case start with the brain. As you inhale imagine your breath going into that tissue and filling it with energy and calmness. Concentrate as long as you can on this imagery, on healing the parts of your brain that are over active. When you feel you have mastered the brain turn to the other parts of your body which may be affected, for example your neck or perhaps your speech center and repeat the imagery technique.Use all of your imagination during this while remaining consious of your breathing. Each inhale should be for healing and each exhale for release of negativity. Imagine your healing energy can penetrate even the smallest atoms within the body and every organ contained inside. Continue to breathe slowly and deeply until you feel your entire body resting and then slowly resume your activities. Go To Page: 1 2
