Psychological Effects of being Diagnosed with Epilepsy


When patients finally reach the ability to cope then they can begin to accept and arrange their lives rather than fighting it. You feel like you are groping in the darkness to find that light at the end of the tunnel. It may take a while and people may not understand but you will get there! It is important for family members and friends to realize that these are vital stages for the indivdual to work through. With out coming full circle there will always be an internal conflict. These emotions should never be discouraged but as with any chronic condition they need to be experienced and dealt with.
