Xbox - Part 2

Hello faithful readers, welp, this article I will be discussing the Xbox titles Project Gotham Racing, Fuzion Frenzy, and some of the features I've come to find handy.

Project Gotham Racing - Many Dreamcast gamers will recognize this title as being the sequel to Metropolis Street Racer - yep, the kudos are back! For those of you not familiar, MSR used a point system called Kudos. Kudos were awarded based on style and presentation, say, if you did a nice spin or hopped onto two-wheel for a turn, kudos for you! However, quirky controls and some of the tightest-fitting roads to ever grace a racer marred the title. Luckily, I have the esteemed pleasure to announce that Project Gotham Racer (PGR) has smoothed off all the rough edges and has come out as a fine racer. The sound is fantastic with some snazzy high-quality tunes on various radio stations, the kudos have been amped (no pun intended) up a bit to get maximum speed on courses, and there is just a ton to do! The tracks are fantastic and there are even bonuses for playing! A friend and I played for an hour and a new helmet was unlocked, while this won't blow your mind, it is an excellent little touch. Most importantly though, the controls have been tweaked to give gamers an outstanding racing experience! Give PGR a try, you won't regret it!

Fuzion Frenzy - A 'party' game -- minus the fun. Optimum enjoyment will come with 3 other friends, but that's 3 other controllers (at $40-50 a piece)! Who has the extra $120 or so and three people just lounging about to really give this game a go? Even if you do, the excitement doesn't last long. There are near 45 mini games with 42 of which being 'knock the guy off the ledge using _' with _ being a hovercraft, boxing glove, bouncing ball, laser, etc. There are about 4 mini games that are actually fun, with some heralding back to the grand NES two-button scheme days, but the majority of the game is bland with little to no personality and just not enough variety. If you're having some friends over and extra controllers on hand, give it a rental.

One of the features I am particularly enjoying is the internal hard drive. Yes, this little 8-gig wonder has saved me, and most others, near $40. How so? Well, it takes the place of a memory card, so instead of forking out another lump sum of cash, I get to hang onto it for a rainy day, or, erm.. more games. The only reason to get a memory card is if you would like to transfer some saves to a friend's system, but at close to $40 a pop, I will put that off as long as humanly possible.
