Hello all and welcome to another exciting article of..erm.. Sega stuff. All right then, I had hoped to have had this article up sooner, but Windows XP hasn't been taking most of my system's programs very well. All seems good now, and it also seems to be for the best as I have something exciting to talk about - Virtua Fighter 4 for PlayStation 2! Gamerweb - http://www.gamerweb.com has posted pictures and information regarding the upcoming Virtua Fighter 4 for Sony's PlayStation 2. I am happy to report that Adam Doree (owner of gamerweb sites) has played the port himself at the Tokyo Game Show, and he being a huge fan of the series and logging in plenty of hours on the arcade machine itself, has stated that it is coming along very well. There were only a few characters and backgrounds implemented, but the graphics and sound was top notch and the game was playing silky smooth. So far there had been no word of any sacrifices being made to bring such a high quality port, but Adam assures us he will play the arcade unit more tonight so he can make a more accurate interpretation. Among a survival mode (FINALLY, a Virtua Fighter getting a survival mode!!) there will also be a Create A Character mode where previous characters can have various aspects of them changed. It was not said what all can be done in the final version, but this is an undoubtedly cool feature and maybe finally I can make Lion look like he did in Virtua Fighter 2. Now, to talk about something less joyful. Gamerweb is the parent site of several 'Web pages, including SegaWeb. Recently, Chakan of SegaFans (whom I had featured in a previous article) recently collaborated with Segadult in recording and encoding the video of Saturn Shenmue that was in Shenmue II. Unfortunately, SegaWeb took this video, slapped their logo all over stills of it and they are even charging people to watch the video. Sega Fans (http://www.classicgaming.com/saturn/) is not charging anyone, and now because of this action, they are going to have to place watermarks onto their movies to ensure that others don't steal their work again. Especially take it and charge people for it. Several attempts have been made to contact SegaWeb from SegaFans and none have been responded to, although some sites such as SwirlVision (http://www.swirlvision), another prestigious Sega-related site, gave credit where it was due. A big thanks goes out to them.
