Biased magazine articles

The other day I happen to receive a copy of a fairly large gaming magazine in the mail. Not being a huge fan of it from reading previous issues, I decided to give it a looksee anyway, especially since it was free. Within its pages of shallow content and inane rhetoric about what "rocks" I came to realize an odd reoccuring consensus - they didn't seem to like the Dreamcast. Now now, I know what you are going to say, "magazines are always biased!", "duh ryan, who didn't know that?", "they have never liked the dreamcast!" - but hear me out people..hey..hey you! Stop going for that back button, I see you, trying to slide your cursor past this over to the toolbar, think you're being sly, but I'm onto you! Ok, now then, back to what I was saying. While going about the various articles on wrestling games (ugh), e'xtreme' sporting titles (ugh), and the latest lappings of the recent version of Madden (UGH), I tended to notice that most previews in regards to Dreamcast titles were fairly negative. In fact, I don't recall one preview that didn't mention one negative comment about a game. I find this very disheartening and completely misleading. While some negatives were said about Xbox titles and PlayStation 2 titles, they were insignificant remarks. Combined, both systems garnered about 4 negative remarks, while the five or so Dreamcast titles previewed had about 10 total. Now, why is it necessary to be so hard on a title that isn't even finished yet? I understand if there were some problems, but many of the faults they listed had to do with their own personal preferences not being met. This is, I feel, a grave mishap. With software drying up, many gamers should still know that Sega has plenty of titles still coming out and even more in the pipleline. Having such comments as those about games not even finish doesn't represent a fair chance for the games. All of the people involved in making the titles are having all of their hard work bashed before it is even complete - this will not only cost Sega some revenue, but possibly some jobs of hard working employees. I wish to ask that magazines be more responsible for what they say in the future. Not all companies are there to obey your every whim and not all of your preferences will be met, and plus, it would help to actually get someone who is a fan of the genre to preview the title. Thank you
