Bargins abound in Dreamcast land

Recently you may or may not have noticed that quite a few Dreamcast games are released at $19.99. While this price is superb, the titles are not ordered in the quantity that they once were. So you really have to be on the lookout or reserve the titles in advance to make sure that you are able to get these gems. The main company leading this trend is a favorite of mine, Capcom.

Their more recently released titles to go at this low low price are Project Justice (Rival Schools 2), Mars Matrix, Giga Wing 2, and the upcoming Heavy Metal: Geomatrix. They have also reduced prices on their web sites for Street Fighter 3: Double Impact, and Tech Romancer, a mecha fighter that is a favorite of a friend of mine. Some older titles like Giga Wing, Power Stone, Marvel VS Capcom, Resident Evil 2, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Dino Crisis, and Street Fighter Alpha 3 have also taken the price dip to $19.99 – whew, quite a bit of titles. It’s time to start saving up folks, this is a rare opportunity to get great titles and prices that don’t seem real.

Sega themselves are also getting into this trend with the recently released Confidential Mission being released for the same low price as well. This is a fantastic time to stock up on these titles before they become hard to find. In fact, many of the recent Capcom titles are fetching over $30 on eBay just because of their low presses. In time these titles will be the very same titles that were released for the Saturn late in its life and getting high prices as well.

In fact, what is happening now is very similar to what happened during the Saturn’s later years, but this time, these are very high profile titles and are getting tremendous price reduces far too early, in my opinion. If you’re a Sega fanatic, then this is indeed a great time to get rid of that spare cash (if you’re like me, cash you need but can rationalize as spare just to spend it on games) as these will no doubt sell out quickly due to said prices and low releases. It would be wise to check out http://www.ebgames.com to see whenever some of the upcoming Dreamcast titles so you can reserve them now to save you the trouble of trying to track them down later; a pain many of us are going through now searching for those elusive Saturn titles we failed to get in their hay-day.
