This update I take a back seat and let Mr. Ted Bissell from Planet Saturn (you can find it in the links) write a review for
After last year's sucess with this title, people were expecting a change. And that's exactly what they got. In the latest installment of this classic baseball title, and arguably the finest sports title that Sega has to offer, the all-Japanese developing team has decided to go with a polygon graphics engine. It may not be the prettiest looking game, but it sure plays well. The arcade pitching system has been replaced by a simulation-type system. It takes some getting used to, but once you do, you see that it's a lot more enjoyable than the arcade pitching. The two-player mode is why this game has been voted best baseball game for the past 2 years, and it may well do it again this year. Another plus is the use of camera angles. Much better than last year's, the camera zooms right in on steals, catches and the coolest part, the camera zooms right in on the catcher when he is making a tag at the plate. All of a sudden, the runner knocks him over. The catcher gets up and the umpire yells "out!" and the announcer yells "caught at the plate!" The playability makes this game a must-have. I purchased this title three weeks ago, and I still cannot stop playing it. Graphics-8.5 Go To Page: 1
