Fighters MEGAMiX: Review

This is AM2s' newest fighter to hit the Saturn in all of it's polygon glory. With it's 30+ characters not to mention the appearences of other very popular AM titles make this game very unique, they range from The Red Hornat from Daytona USA to Janet from Virtua Cop 2, they also have a beefed up version of a already existing Fighting Vipers character (Bahn and Urabahn). But even if that is not enough there is moves implemented from Virtua Fighter 3, yes many bought this game just to practice for the arcade version of VF3 and the Saturn (or whatever system) version. The main thing borrowed from Vf3 is the dodge button, which makes this game a truly 3D experience. I also found that if you hated Fighting Vipers this game shows it in a new light, I dont know it might be that they are faster or that they are next to the Virtua Fighter characters.

There are several options in this game but two main options, which are the Fighting Viper and Virtua Fighter modes. In the Fighting Vipers mode you get these crappy sparks that look as if they were ripped off from either Vitual On or Tekken, but the big thing is that the walls break (which is the main reason why people played Fighting Vipers) and it is said to go faster than the Virtua Fighter mode but I don't see it. And in the Virtua Fighter mode (In my opinion) the game runs faster with smoother and crisper polygons, but the walls dont break and you don't get the crappy sparks. And that is why I always play in Virtua Fighter mode.

And there is also a debate over which characters are stronger, but when it comes to strength the Fighting Vipers characters are stronger, but the Virtua Fighter characters' have more moves, and when used properly can wipe the floor with any FV character. And since it takes little to no skill to play as the FV characters it may get irritating when you are playing a friend doing complex moves that look amazing while he or she is just bashing buttons (ala Tekken) to kick your butt, but this is due in part because of the FV characters' upper hand in strength. But ultimately the VF characters are better.

And even with all of these characters and backgrounds not to mention, the music which is a plus since the music is taken from the games of secret characters (as on Janets' stage you fight in a level based up Virtua
