Re-Issue of the Saturn Gaming GoodnessHello all, and welcome to another article about yours and mine favorite videogame company, Sega. Well, it seems that several companies are expressing interest in re-issuing Sega Genesis games and the system itself, but more importantly is the re-issuing of the Sega Saturn systems and games at a bargin price soon after. Now here is a great chance to see why it has such a large, still loyal following. Sure, there are good games out now but for the Saturn, there were great games and heopfully soon everyone will get a chance to experience them..not to mention knock the outrageous prices of Panzer Dragoon Azel and Burning Rangers down to boot. What I have noticed is a strange trend, the Saturn unit sells for about $60 but the games can easily exceed over $60, some games (for example Panzer Dragoon Azel) are being sold for $149 due to their limited releases near the Saturns life cycle. Now with the re-issue, hopefully all of us with limited budgets can get a chance to get our hands on these gems..sure the graphics dont look as good as the Dreamcast games, but the gameplay is a whole lot better. Oh, and there are some Saturn games you can still find at some web retailers cheap..but really...I can do without Pebble Beach Golf. With all of this said, and if it is successful, maybe the fabled rumor of re-releasing old Saturn games for the Dreamcast with enhanced features will come to life... imagine, having Virtua Fighter 1, 2 and Remix all on one cd, with smoother polygons and faster gameplay (for 1 and remix..2 is pure genius), or a light gun collection of Virtua Cop 1 and 2 or Lost World and House of the Dead..the possibilites are great...just imagine, sitting down and sinking your teeth into a cd with Daytona USA, Daytona USA CCE, Sega Rally, and Sega Touring Car all on one cd...I know id pay $60 for that, even if they were not enhanced. The fact is, you just cant beat great gameplay...so even if the Saturn isnt re-issued, do yourself a favor and go hunting for a Saturn and some games (I recommend, Virtua Fighter 2, Sega Rally, Fighters MEGAMiX, Xmas NiGHTS, Virtua Cop 1 with Stunner, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Daytona USA, Virtual On, Grandia, Shining the Holy Arc 3, Dragon Force (!!!!! a must!), and the Panzer Dragoon Series... this is just to start, the great thing about the Saturn is that it has a ton of games that are fantastic but less known and theres nothing better than picking up a small title like Guardian Heroes for $15 and finding endless hours of gameplay goodness in it..so good luck and have fun!
